Adamah’s Jewish Climate Leadership Coalition

Adamah’s Jewish Climate Leadership Coalition is a network of Jewish community organizations that recognize the existential threat and moral urgency of climate change and commit to take action. Adamah provides resources and partnerships to support Coalition members in achieving net-zero greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions, and engaging the broader Jewish community in climate action.

CBI Climate Action

Inspired by the Jewish values of caring for the earth and avoiding waste, CBI joined Adamah’s Jewish Climate Leadership Coalition. Adamah awarded CBI a $6K grant for digital thermostats in 2022, a $36K grant and $100K zero interest loan for solar carports in 2023 and a $10K grant for LED light conversion in 2024.

We are proud to demonstrate leadership and join the hundreds of other Jewish nonprofits that have gone solar. CBI is expected to save $1.46 million in electric fees over the life of the solar carports. Since activating solar in March 2024, CBI’s electric usage has dropped by at least 10,000 kWh each month from the previous year. As of October 2024, we have saved over 160,000 lbs of Co2 emissions which is the equivalent of planting 1,200 trees.
